This cup is made by Koji Kamata, who has been researching Tenmoku for over 40 years. Koji Kamata is an extremely well-known artist who created tenmoku glaze cups, famous for being trained by Living National Treasure Uichi Shimizu.

Started Tenmoku research at Gojozaka joint climbing kiln ``Kanchugama''
1973: Selected for the 20th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition for the first time
1975 Selected for the 3rd Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition
1976 Became a regular member of the Japan Crafts Association
1980 Solo exhibition at Takashimaya, Kyoto
1982: Built a gas furnace at home due to the suspension of the Gojozaka joint climbing kiln.
1984 Solo exhibition at Tokyo Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Art Salon
1987 Received the Kyoto Prefecture Board of Education Chairman's Award at the 16th Japan Crafts Association Kinki Branch Exhibition
1988: Receives training from Mr. Uichi Shimizu at a training session to inherit the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Iron Glazed Ceramics"
